Flash Fiction :)

A Chance

I shift in my chair. Again. I can’t find a comfortable position to sit. Not because of the chair, but because of how nervous I am.

Why am I nervous? I shouldn’t be nervous. I’ve done this before. This process should be normal to me now.

I look up at the man sitting across from me. He’s in his comfort zone. His chair, his desk, his office. He’s even wearing a hoodie and jeans. His hair is ruffled in a messy style.

I try to remember what he said his name is as he looks over my resume. I try to forget that the dress I’m wearing looks more professional than his outfit.

“You don’t have a whole lot of experience as a programmer yet.” He finally says, breaking the terrible awkward silence, “You don’t even have the required four year degree for this job.”

“I know.” I reply. How do I convince him that I need this job?

“So why should I offer you this job?” He asks. He’s going to let me explain.

“Because I have to start somewhere.” I say. Then I pause, searching for the right words, “Because I the education that I have will allow me to quickly learn whatever I need for this job.”

He raises his eyebrows. I give him a nervous smile.

“You think you will be able to perform as well as someone with more experience?”

“I will if you give me a chance.”  A chance is all I need.

Here

Ok, so everyone has to introduce themselves on these things. So I guess I'll try my hand at it.
First of all, I'm not a blogger.
WHAT!?!?!?!?! WHY DO YOU HAVE A BLOG IF YOU AREN'T A BLOGGER????
Thank you. That is an excellent question.
To be honest. I don't know.
I'm a writer. A writer that wants to have a book published someday. Everyone has told me that first I'm going to need a blog.
But I'm not a blogger.
I know, I know. Anyone can be a blogger. As long as you have something to say and you try hard. That's what blogging is about right?
Right.
I'm so convinced.
The problem is that anyone can have a blog and everyone has something to say. Most of the time I don't care and neither does the rest of the world.
Even if someone does care about one post it still gets archived and forgotten.
So here's me, having a blog that isn't going to be a blog.
Your welcome.
